Sisters Blessing Sisters is here to help you to find your path, your avenue to whatever it is you may be in search.

Looking back over my life the past 10 years, I realize that I have been through so much that I could really write a book.  Perhaps it could touch a life or bless someone who may be in the midst of enduring a trial or a tribulation.

When I lost my father almost ten years, I truly lost a part of my heart.  He was a man of great depth and love.  Not long after my father passed away, I lost my job as program coordinator at a local hospital.  I really enjoyed that job because it was different from any other job I ever had.  It was challenging in terms of the work itself and the people; the people, I do believe, were more of a challenge than my daily duties.  This path was lonely because no one seemed to understand what I was going through or they simply chose to close their ears to my voice.  I had to endure this torment for the lesson that had been planned for me to learn and I learned a lot for which I am truly and highly grateful.

There was an older lady that I worked with who just refused to train me for my position when I got the promotion.  This woman was not a creation of the Lord.  This lady did things that Ithink the enemy could not even dream of doing.  There's not an adjective to describe this lady and unfortunately for me. I was forced to deal with her for eleven years.  I remember my skin breaking out horribly because of the stress that I was under and I've always had beautiful skin. This lady had no conscience because she was not human.  I lived a nightmare in that department for what seemed like an eternity.  Every single solitary time I asked this lady for help in terms of doing my job, she would say, "learn on your own".  The people who worked at the hospital were afraid of her because she really was a monster.  She was the worse person I have ever met in my entire life.  I could write this entire post about the horrific things that she did to people, but this post is about all the things that I have endured through God's grace, His merciful kindness and the path I have taken to the place where I am now.

After this lady retired, I got a promotion; her job.  Short lived that's for sure.  Another lady came in; she had an M.D. behind her name, was super hungry for power and got rid of me and my boss not long after she had stepped foot in the office door.  You know the story; new regime gets ready of the old regime.  However, I was relieved and elated, at the same time, to be out of that unhealthy environment.  I was at home with my family and I loved it.

I had an idea as to what I wanted to do with my life, but I wasn't exactly sure.  I was an outstanding typist and transcriptionist and thought about starting a home business typing and that's what I've done, but I've always longed to do something greater than this for the Lord, my family and for other people.

I started Sisters Blessing Sisters to enlighten the lives of my sisters in Christ Jesus.  Unfortunately, this has not moved to the level that I had hoped.  Most people are out to find how they can improve their own lives financially and any other way they deem necessary, but my heart wants to bless those women who are looking to enhance and improve their lives.  I've started Helping Moms Make Ends Meet and now, Girlfriends Glorifying God.  God is great and I want to do great things for Him; to honor Him.  It took me years to understand and realize that the path and the journey in my life is the path that God has devised for me and not me myself and that doing His will, regardless of what His will is all that matters in my life.  I could type and transcribe all day long, and make great money doing it, but if it is not God's will for my life, it is all in vain.

I sure hope you'll join me on this journey, this mission that I am undertaking.  It is larger than life and I hope you'll say yes sisters.

I then began to embark on a whole new world and we all know that there is an enormous world out there which is to say that anyone can do anything they want to do using the talents and gifts given to them by God the Father.

Blessed

She walked out from the table of my heart
To edify my spirit,
Her wisdom and strength she impart
A being that looks deep into my soul
She enlightens and educates
To help make me whole.
Amazingly she sweetens the joy in my life
Through our Source of Hope
Jesus the Christ
Together we walk to conquer the world
A journey so blessed
We're God's precious pearls.
Thank you my sister for blessing me
For sealing God's Word
And forever and a day
Believing in me.
She is my sister; if she needs my help, I open my heart.

It shined upon me, His grace and everlasting mercy.
It rained down on me, His blessings that have forever changed my life.
The windows of His Kingdom opened and I opened my heart to receive the words He has written on the table of my heart, the special place where Christ reigns.
His Sonshine warms my soul.
I have been cleansed by the precious blood of the Lamb.
I have peace where worry once lived and I have joy and sorrow no longer embraces me.

Friend

I have a very dear and close friend that died quite a few years ago.  He and I were, I guess you could say, were like sister and brother that's how close we were.  We shared so many things between us and we loved each other deeply and sincerely.  I confided in him about things in my life that I could not trust or dare to tell or share with anyone else; just him.  He was never ever too busy for me.  If I had a problem, and believe me, I have had many many major problems in my life, he was always right there to give me the absolute best advice a friend could give to another friend.  I love him so much.  He had a bevy of beautiful and unique qualities that no one else that I knew could compare or even came close to possessing.  He was wonderful, amazing, awesome, brilliant in so many ways, patient, kind, loving, caring, generous, always giving, majestic, beautiful inside and out and he was so sweet and I truly adored everything about him.  He was special and his heart was filled with pure love.  His mother and Father were amazing and so I was not surprised to see that he was the product of his parents;  gentle, kind and loving.

There were times when I didn't know how I was going to make ends meet from one day to the next, but because of his generous sweet spirit, I never had to fear or worry.  When he gave me money, he gave it from his heart and he always told me that I didn't have to pay it back.  He had so much to give; he seemed to have an endless supply of anything that I needed; advice, love, compassion.  He was the kind of friend everyone, men, women and children need to have in their lives.  I think about all that my friend has done for me and I marvel at his goodness.

When I think about how my friend died, I have to thank him because he literally died for me.  Every time I think of him suffering the way that he did I have to thank him.

One day as I was praying, I heard a lot of noise outside my living room window.  I saw these men torturing my friend as the blood trickled down his face.  My body became weak and numb as he gave no resistance to these men who had my friend in such a tight grip.

I ran outside to help him; to loose him from their snares, but he told me that there was nothing I could do.  He told me how much he loved me and that he promised that he would be okay and he would see me again real soon. He then told me to go back in the house and finish praying as he knew I had always done three times a day at the same time everyday.  Though I didn't understand what he meant at that moment, I trusted his words as I looked into his beautiful and amazing brown eyes which spoke nothing but, trust my heart; and I have trusted him ever since the day he came into my life because he was always a man of his word, true to his word.  He had delivered me from many things that were going on in my life; he saved me from those who were trying to hurt me because they hated me because of my relationship with him so it was not hard for me to trust him because he was so trustworthy and so good to me in ways that were too many to count.

As I walked back into the house I cried and cried tears of sorrow as my heart slowly began to break as they took my friend away.  I did not follow him because he told me not to; he was such a dear and close friend, I wanted to honor his request and took heed to his very word. When I entered the closet I fell to my knees, now praying for my dear sweet friend.  I no longer heard the noise that had stopped me from praying and now my body shook with fear as I longed to hear what had happened to my friend.

A few days had passed by and I did not hear a word about or from my loving friend.  I was so worried about him, but in my heart, I knew that he was going to live regardless of what those men had done to him.

One early Sunday morning, as I sat at my kitchen table admiring and adoring the majesty of the Lord, there appeared right before my eyes, my friend.  He was clothed in a long bright white glistering linen cloth and he had a glow as if he had been to heaven.  He knocked at the door and when I opened it, He came in, sat down, and has been here with me ever since that day.

For the Family

Christian Storybooks as told from the heart of a child.

As parents we know the importance of sharing and building a close relationship with our children.  A bond that lasts and a bond that's profound comes from the love and the nurture parents pour into the hearts and lives of their children each and everyday.

Reading to and communicating with our children is a great way to build trust, give hope and bestows a special and unique kind of peace into their lives.  Demonstrating and displaying a constant show of love for our children through hand holding, hugging and with lots and lots of kisses and being the best possible parents we can be, tells and gives our children a real sense of what real love is all about.

Color the Son Christian Storybooks for the Family have been created, designed and written to help families to fill their chests with treasures that lasts a lifetime; memories;  memories that will help children to build a sound and solid foundation for their futures.

Our storybooks are sweet; they are precious tales that are as precious as our children.  We believe that we have written what we believe children feel in their hearts for their mommys and daddys.  We have put in writing, love, hope, peace and joy for every mommy, daddy, girl and boy!
Blessings flow from the Light that illuminates the earth and in our hearts forever flowing within our spirits.  I thank God for the Light that lives and for the love and mercy that provides and supplies all of our needs according to His riches in glory.

The power of praising His Holy Name is the strength, and the joy that comes from our relationship with the Father.  To praise Him is to love Him and bless Him.

The power of prayer is the hope and substance of believing and trusting, by faith in Jesus Christ, and the blood He shed on our behalf for all that we desire.

Delight yourself also in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart.  Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass.

The Hem of His Garment
Is like a Treasure Chest of Gold
What's stored inside
The eye cannot behold
The Hem is laced
With a bright shining light
Miracles and parables
Gifts for my life
Healing is stored
For the lame and the blind
And for an issue of blood
To ease a woman's mind
The Hem of His Garment
More precious than gold
Where faith and inspiration seeps
Into the believer's soul.

I could not bare to see Him leave
Unto His garment I would cleave.
He had to go, this I know
I also knew I'd miss Him so.
He could not leave me all alone
So He prayed to the Father
Before He ascended to the Throne
He sent me a Helper
On who I could depend
A Comforter and Divine Aid
A merciful Friend
Forever and ever, always He abides
A gift of love who is
Always eternally right by my side.
Thank You, Jesus
For loving me
Truly, sincerely, and unconditionally.

Happy Mother's Day

Growing up in the City of Philadelphia I had the most wonderful and awesome childhood.  My parents were amazing.  My mother, Mary Travick, along with my father, Vernon Travick, were/is the apple of my eye and I love them more than words could ever say.  There is no an adjective in the dictionary to describe how much I adore and love my parents.

I can remember my mother cooking and making the most delicious meals in the world.  The nutrition that was stored in every meal was the treasure that helped to keep me healthy.  I remember my mother taking my sister and me to Lit Brothers to see the Enchanted Village at Christmastime and Easter time she would always take us to buy new Easter outfits; everything brand spanking new all the way down to the crimbling slip!

We use to shop at Lord and Taylor long before she began her career there.  She bought us the best quality clothes and shoes!  Our Rothschild coats were simply beautiful; my mother had great taste in clothes and shoes.  I guess that's why I have a love for shoes.  When we came home from school, my mother made sure that there was no noise, tv's/radios to distract us from doing our homework; she made sure that the house was in total silence so that we could do our homework and focus on studying in an effort to make and maintain good grades and I always did.

She used to take us to the Latin Casino to see all of the Motown Recording Artists including the Supremes, the Temptations, the Four Tops and more!!!  After each show my mother would take us back stage to meet the celebrities.  How was she able to do that you might ask?  My mother's cousin is Berry Gordy, Founder and President of Motown Records.  I also remember my mother taking me to Detroit, Michigan.  When we got there she took my sister and me to Motown Records where I met the Jackson Five.  They were in the studio recording "I Want You Back".  She then took us to Marvin Gaye's house!!! What an unforgettable joy and experience that was.  She also took us to the Uptown to see  Smokey Robinson and the Miracles.  We met Smokey and he was so nice.

When my father died in 2001, my heart broke for my mother; her life has never been the same it seems.  They were married 52 years.  I can only imagine what she must feel, but she has been hanging in there and though some days she doesn't feel well, she is still here with us and I thank God for her presence.

I could go on and on forever and forever talking about my mother and how she nourished me with her love.  My oh my what a mother she is.  She is my strength and everything that is special to me.  God has truly blessed me with a woman whose spirit is pure love and compassion.

I thank You, Lord God, for Your mercy and for Your unconditional love.

Happy Mother's Mommy, I love you more than you'll ever know.

How would you like to drop 1 to 3 dress sizes in 10 minutes with Body Magic.  Yes, Body Magic helps you to look your very best in a matter of minutes.  This is a must try garment for women who want to look and feel their best.  And best of all, you'll start dropping pounds every time you wear this garment.

Body Magic reshapes your lower body.  It allows you to redistribute some of your irregularities to a more desirable area. This redistribution becomes more permanent over time. Plus, it reshapes your body instantly. If you need an instant tummy tuck this Garment will do it. The Ardyss Body Magic and Angel Bra will sensationalize your figure by lifting your bust, removing side rolls and flattening your stomach instantly.

Another benefit of Ardyss International's Body Magic body shaper is that you will look and feel taller. Why? Because the garment will help your posture. How? Well, with the Body Magic by Ardyss International, most of your torso is covered which gives you more support and control. As the compression garment shapes your body, you have no choice but to sit, stand, and walk more erect. After wearing the garment a few times, you will notice you stand more erect without actually wearing the Body Magic

The Waters

The springs flow into the valleys
That run among the hills
That can be heard from afar
When all else is still
They quench the thirst
Of man and beast
Falling quietly
A sense of peace

The waters run into the stream
Gently touching in my dream
The waters boast with strength and power
Evidence He reigns, God the Father
The waters are beauty
So crystal clear
I hear echoes of God's works
As I draw near

Traveling down to the depths of the sea
The Lord sheds grace
His waters full of mercy
His amazing love,
Unconditional for me.

The Lord is wonderful
Sovereign and wise
He is the apple and fruit
Of my eyes.

I cry out, I praise You Lord
Yes, I cry out, the stones and me
My feet sinking deeply in the sands of the sea
As I witness the Christ walking towards me.

A Scripture on the Table

A Scripture on the Table, Blessings for Your Family

Prayers have been taken out of our schools, but we that doesn't mean that is has to be taken out of our hearts and homes.

I honestly believe that planting God's seeds in the hearts of our children and loved ones through daily scripture reading is one of the most important things that we can do for our families.

God's Word is the Light that guides our every footstep.  It is the foundation on which we stand, secured by His love and His Divine and Eternal Presence in our lives.  Knowing and understanding God's Word is essential to and for the lives of our children.

Scripture on the Table can help us to teach our children just how much God loves and deeply cares for them.  Scripture on the Table can also help us to grow in a right and closer relationship with God and one another that will allow us to create memories they will forever cherish.  It will also teach our children the significance of putting on the armor of God everyday, but more importantly, it will teach our precious pearls to reverence, serve, obey and love the Lord thy God with all their hearts, souls, minds, might and strength.

A Scripture on the Table

Find a scripture that you'd like to share with your family; take a scripture from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament (I love the King James Version).  Write out the Passage of Scripture and be sure to include the chapter and the verse for planting and steeping the word into the hearts, souls and spirits of your loved ones.  Before dinner and immediately after thanking God for the food you're about to receive, read a Scripture from the Old Testament and immediately following dinner read a Scripture from the Old Testament.  Be sure to talk about the Scripture asking your family what the Scripture means and if they're not sure, be prepared to explain in detail exactly what the Scripture means and if and how they can apply it to their lives.

Christian Women Week

I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Psalm 143:8

JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THAT IT ISCHRISTIAN WOMEN WEEK AND YOU MUST SEND THIS TO ALL BEAUTIFUL CHRISTIAN WOMEN.
'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
that a man should have to seek Him first to find her
cid:image001.jpg@01CA32245CA6D7D0

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living.
I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'

cid:image002.jpg@01CA32245CA6D7D0
When I say 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

cid:image003.jpg@01CA32245CA6D7D0

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

cid:image004.jpg@01CA32245CA6D7D0

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

cid:image005.jpg@01CA32245CA6D7D0

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect.
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

cid:image007.jpg@01CA32245CA6D7D0
When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner who received God's good grace, somehow!

Scriptures for the Sisters

Isaiah

32:1

Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.

32:2

And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.

32:3

And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.

32:4

The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.

32:5

The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said [to be] bountiful.

32:6

For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

32:7

The instruments also of the churl [are] evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.

32:8

But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.

I, Woman Inspired

With all glory to God, I am so very proud to announce my new book, I, Woman Inspired; Awakening Hearts of Women with Short Stories, Prose and Poetry.

Gospel Song of the Week

They Got the Word

This is a song I've fallen in love with; it has touched my spirit in a way that words simply cannot explain. I listen to it three times a day when it comes on television at 9:33 a.m., 3:33 p.m. and then again in the late evening hours at 9:33 p.m.

Mrs. Mosie Burks is the lead singer and with the Mississippi Mass Choir accompanying her with this soul stirring song, together they are amazing. She is a phenomenal lady who puts her heart and soul into this spirit-led, instrument of ten strings and organs song!!!

May God continue to bless Mrs. Burks. I love her!!!

They got the word (they got the word)

They got the word (they got the word)

Oh I'll (be at the great coronation)

It's gonna be held (in the middle of the air)

They got the word (they got the word)

I say yes to Jesus (they got the word

That I'll meet them in that city (built four square)

There's a great coronation coming up

Filled with joy and gladness

There are special guest attending

It will be all the children of the Lord

I've got a standing invitation

With all the Saints from every nation

We'll be there (be there, be there, be there, be there)

Be there when they (crown him lord of Lords)

We are our Father's Children

One, united, in God, Jesus Christ

We are on our way to that great coronation

Where we'll (crown Him Lord of Lords)

Wait til I get there, wait til I get there

Wait til I get there, wait til I get there

Wait til I get there, wait til I get there

Curtains fall

Roll is called

World of sin

Marching in

Crown him, crown him, crown him, crown him

Be there when they (crown him Lord of Lords)

Good time have a good time (etc.)
During last week's sermon, Dr. Stanley talked about God's will for his life.  It was a very moving story that touched me deeply.  When I drove my son to the bus on Wednesday morning, I walked in the house, sat down in the living room and spoke to God.  I asked Him to show me His will about something very profound in my life.  I asked Him to show me a sign; I asked Him to send a Cardinal to my backyard.  Well, when I kneeled down to pray, I didn't pray long because of my inquities; the Holy Spirit then spoke to me and said, go to the window and open the blinds.  I got up, walked over to the window and there I saw a Cardinal, bright and beautiful as day.  I wrote the poem below because I was amazed at God's awesome power that morning.

He'll move Heaven and earth

To show me His will

Silently I stand

He said, "Peace, be still".

All is quiet as I wait to hear

The plan from the Master

I lend Him my ear.

I'm sending you a sign

From the bright blue sky

Soaring like an eagle

Into your life he'll fly.

A beautiful Cardinal

Flaming like fire

Upon his wings

Your heart's desire.

What an awesome vision

For you to behold

You've witnessed my glory

My will for your life

Has now been told.
